Aerosol

(including deodorants) because they can compressed gasses. Alcoholic Beverages: Above 24 % ABV including spirits such as gin, rum, vodka and whisky because they are flammabale.

Batteries- Lithium:

(lithium ion/polymer /metal /alloy batteries sent on their own or sent with but not connected to a device such as a mobile phone, MP3 player or digital camera) because of the risk of fire if they are crushed or damaged, or if they short circuit.


Batteries – wet , non-spillabale:

(e.g, sealed lead acid batteries absorbed glass mat and gel cell batteries).


Batteries classified as dangerous goods and certain used batteries:

(included contaminated dressings, bandages and needles).


Control drugs and narcotics:

(including cannabis, cocaine, heroin, LSD, opium and amyl nitrate).


Corrosive:

(including dyes, acids, corrosive paint and rust removers, caustic soda, mercury and gallium metal).


Dry Ice:

(e.g. UN 1845 when used as a coolant for UN3373 or for other perishable items).


Electronic devices:

(sent with lithium batteries where the battery is not connected to the device) because of the risk of fore if the batteries are crushed or damaged, or if they short circuit.


Electronics items containing any batteries exceeding 100 wH:

(including electrical bicycles and some high performance laptops).


Environmental waste:

(including used batteries or used engine oil).


Explosives:

(including fireworks, flares, blasting caps and car airbag components).


Flammable Liquids:

(including acetone, certain alcoholic beverages, benzene, petroleum, lighter fluid, solvent-based aint thinners and removers, certain perfumes and aftershaves, varnishes including nail varnish or polish, enamels and certain adhesives).


Gases:

(including flammable, non-flammable, toxic and compresses gases, gas cylinders for camping stoves, butane, ethane, methane, propane, fire extinguishers and scuba tanks).


Human and animal remains:

(including ashes)


Infectious substances and pathogens:

(UN2814, UN2900 and UN3373).


Lighters and refills containing flammable liquid or gas:

(including butane lighters and used petrol cigarette lighters).


Liquid over 1 litre:

Because of the potential damage to aircraft, vehicles or other post if they spill or leak.

Because they are flammable.


Oxiding materials or organic peroxides:

(including disinfectants, nitrates and hair dyes or colorants containing peroxides )


Perfume and aftershave:

(including eau de toilette ) because they are flammable


Pesticides:

(including weed killer and any chemical used to kill pests and insects, such as fly sprays).


Poisons, toxic liquids, solids and gases:

(including substances that are liable to cause death or injury if swallowed or inhaled or by skin contact, including arsenic, beryllium cyanide, fluorine, rat poison).


Solvent-based paints, wood varnishes and enamels:

None.


Waste, dirt, filth or refuse:

(including household waste).


Weapons:

(including section 5 firearms, CS gas and pepper sprays, flick knives, tasers and stun guns).
